HCD Business Meeting Share Your Thoughts
The H&CD Division Executive Committee has been working with the APA National and Division Councils Leadership to update our By-laws. The changes of note are to expand various Officer Positions on the Executive Committee as follows:
We split the position of Secretary-Treasurer into two distinct Officer Positions so as to ease the burden and provide a degree of separation between these roles;
We added an At-Large Officer Position to assist with the various responsibilities being taken on by the Executive Committee, including content creation, event planning, and the coordination of specially-designated subcommittees; and
We elevated the position of Student Liaison to an Officer Position to improve our outreach to the next generation of planners and to promote the importance of Housing and Community Development in the education of future planners.
With the current Officer Positions of Division Chair, Vice-Chair, and Immediate Past-Chair, these amendments will give our Executive Committee a total of seven (7) Officer Positions which will not only assist in the day-to-day operations of the H&CD Division, but will also provide more of our members with an opportunity to serve on the Executive Committee, and it will provide a longer legacy of leadership and a continuity of institutional knowledge within our Division for many years to come.
